Holidays at HYC

During the holidays, Homeless Youth Connection relies on individuals, businesses, faith-based organizations, and the community at large to help provide a happy and joyous holiday to the students we serve.  Here are some of the exciting ways you can partner with HYC during the holidays:

Holiday Hope for Teens (Adopt a Student)

By “adopting” a student in the Homeless Youth Connection program, you are providing a special experience for the student, and also helping ensure that he or she has a joyful holiday.  Donors will receive a student’s wish list. The wish list will contain the student’s name, age, gender, sizes, and a few needs and holiday wishes.  We recommend a spending budget of approximately $50 on the student’s needs, and $50 on his or her wishes, for a total budget of $100 per student.

To obtain a student’s wish list, email Korina Mitchell at kmitchell@hycaz.org.

We ask that all gifts be delivered to Homeless Youth Connection no later than December 5, 2016.

Once we receive the gifts, volunteers will wrap and sort them for each student.  The gifts are then delivered to the schools so that the students receive them before the holidays.

Holiday Gift Drive
HYC also welcomes help with collecting gifts for our students.  Consider hosting a general gift collection of unwrapped items.  Help us bring a smile to students in our programs.

Cash Donations
Your financial support is always needed to continue our services provided to the families.  Please make checks payable to Homeless Youth Connection. You can also donate online now.

Gift Cards
HYC uses gift cards to supplement holiday wish lists, and to provide for basic necessities and meals throughout the year.  Consider donating gift cards for Walmart, Target, or local restaurants and fast food locations in $5 to $10 values.

Arizona Charitable Tax Credit
Homeless Youth Connection qualifies for the Charitable Tax Credit for Arizona taxpayers.  This means your gift to HYC could help reduce your own tax liability!  Click here to learn more.
